On March 8, 2020, activists of the CO “Legalife-Ukraine” from all over of Ukraine gathered in the center of Kiev on Mikhailovskaya Square and joined the annual Women’s March by a separate column.

This year, the Women’s March in Ukraine was organized with the main aim to attract the attention of authorities and society to the ratification of the “Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Violence against Women and Domestic Violence and the fight against these phenomena." Ukraine signed the Istanbul Convention in 2011, but it still has not been ratified.

CO “Legalife-Ukraine” firmly supports the demands of women activists in defense
of women’s rights to immediately ratify the Convention and joins them with the
requirement to decriminalize sex work in Ukraine.
Nataliia Isaieva, director of the CO “Legalife-Ukraine”: “Today it was nice to see so many young faces and creativity! I’m sure that everything will work out in spite of the hysteria of the right-wing radicals, who were trying to disrupt this March.”
